Daylight
01:50
|
|||
Where is the daylight
What’s this shadow we’re living in
In a world full of strangers
Is anyone listening
I sit on my fingers
And wait for another day
Take all the papers
I’m done with them anyway
Lock the door
You don’t need to leave here anymore
There’s a room with a view upstairs
If you need it
There’s a storm on the way
I can feel it
Is it all gonna fall apart
When I need it

Local Fool
03:32
|
|||
The local fool sits on his stool
A purple wine glass in his hand
He sits alone and reads the papers
With a sadness on his face
He takes the words right off the page
And turns them round inside his head
They talk of change and progress
His thoughts on which are better left unsaid
Now and then he breaks a smile
Lifts his glass up to the sky
He shuts his eyes and he cries
It’s you and me against this modern world my friend
The local fool resists it all
A stuborn rock in changing times
He sips and sighs and cries
While the world keeps spinning on and on and on
I sit and watch him sip his wine
A troubled soul in changing times
And then I catch his eye
Two stubborn rocks this local fool and I
Now and then he breaks a smile
Lifts his glass up to the sky
He shuts his eyes and he cries
It’s you and me against this modern world my friend

Move On
04:04
|
|||
I take another sip of wine
I find it helps to pass the time
I watch the hills turn to gold
And sit until the air turns cold
Will it help me move on
Cos I’ve been feeling like this for far too long
I paint the view and breathe it in
And write of things that burn within
I fly to where the olives lie
And swim beneath an orange sky
Will it help me move on
When will all the wrong be gone
I put the past behind me
But it always seems to find me
I write a tune and play with it
I’ll even put some words to it
I read somewhere that when you’re down
It sometimes helps to write it down
Are you here to stay
Or will you fade away today
I take another sip of wine
I find it helps to pass the time
I think of all the good i’ve had
Maybe things weren’t all that bad
Do we ever move on
Is who we are where we’re from
I put the past behind me
but it always seems to
Move on move on
There’s more to see so let me be
Move on move on
Let the rain bring the sun again
Move on move on
Close the door to the world before
Move on, move on, move on, move on
